Original text of Saint-Louis:
The Dog in brown-black is made using the blowtorch. A faithful
and loyal animal, its white ears are symbols of wealth according to
oriental tradition. The dog stands on a white muslin background
encircled by a line of transparent crystal rods, surrounded by green,
white and amethyst. The date is placed under the front paw
of the playful dog who appears to be using it as a ball,
giving the illusion of bouncing off the outside of the paperweight,
with a matt pearl cut finish.
